Lectors / Readers

Readers play an integral part in the Mass through the welcome notes, the reading of Sacred Scriptures and the Prayers of the Faithful.

The Readers’ Ministry gives Catholics the opportunity to be part of the mass on the weekends, and at holy days throughout the year. Training is given in Public Speaking, interpretation of the scriptures, and self-development. Readers go on to develop more confidence and joy in serving God and being an active part of the parish. The readers are rostered to read every three to four weeks but can specify their availability.

People of all ages are invited to join the Readers’. In particular, we would like to encourage all young people to consider becoming readers. Full training is provided.

We are always looking for more volunteers to be part of our ministry.

If you would like to become an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion please contact the Parish Office on (02) 9810 1157 or email   office@staugbalmain.org.au .  We are looking forward to welcoming you.
